Back cover text

How do you survive the grief of losing a child?

Police officer David Berg has lost all joy in life after the tragic death of his daughter Lina. Still, he keeps going—for the sake of his wife Charlotte and their other daughter, Sara.

During an emergency callout, David is shot and seriously injured. He survives—but something is different. He finds drawings of an old house and begins to see and hear Lina. She wants him to find “the missing,” but he doesn’t understand what she means. Do the drawings of the house have something to do with the missing people—and who, exactly, has disappeared?

David dismisses it all as hallucinations brought on by his head injury and the pain medication he’s taking. But against his will, he’s pulled deeper into the mystery—while struggling not to drown in grief. Soon, David will realize that there are more evil people in the world than he ever imagined—and that his entire family is in danger.Quotes about The
