Elina Kangas

Elina Kangas is an author who loves to explore her own fantasy and experiment with stories and creating characters and worlds that other people can enjoy and be thrilled by.

She has always been drawn to read and write stories with darkness and prefers to write in genres where her imagination can run wild. But she never hesitates to challenge herself with a new genre if she has an idea she wants to write.

In 2022, Elina made her debut with the Forbidden kin, the first part of The Wall trilogy. Which is described as a terrifying and realistic dystopic future with thrilling twists and morally grey characters. It is a book for those who loves dystopia such as The Haindmaid´s tale, 1984 and Divergent.

Since the debut Elina has released several horror books, romantasy and erotic short stories.

Elina was born in 1994, grew up in Jönköping, and lives just outside Linköping with her husband, two children and two cats and a dog. She quit her job to pursue her dream to become a full-time writer, and writes in several genres such as fantasy, dystopia, horror and erotica. She also owns and runs a small print shop together with her husband.

Forbidden kin, book 1 of the wall trilogy

The world is destroyed, toxic after years of emissions, and is forbidden to enter. Humanity has built walls between themselves and the dangerous. To manage overpopulation within the walls and the limited resources, the Swedish government rules with an iron fist; distributing resources, dictating where citizens can live and work, and deciding when a life is more of a burden than an asset.

They even control which children are allowed to be born. And anyone opposing the government's laws faces harsh punishment, with all illegitimate individuals who are apprehended disappearing.

Quotes and reviews:

“Wow such start of the trilogy! Captivates the reader immediately! The whole concept is so cool, but at the same time terrifying.”

“Love this book, the world that the author built is extremely intriguing.”

"Elina Kangas manages to recycle historical events with an innovative narrative. Despite the dark theme, there is hope, friendship, and love woven throughout the story." Editor Maria Lindgren, BTJ Magazine, Issue 3, 2023
