Europa Pandemus
On a Friday night in May, all communication between Spain and the outside world suddenly goes dark after reports of a series of seemingly connected attacks. The people of Spain wake up to a living nightmare as it becomes clear that a deadly infection — one that turns people aggressive and uncontrollable — has begun to spread like wildfire.
As news of the disaster reaches the rest of the world, neighboring countries do what they can to try to prevent the contagion from crossing their borders. But how do you stop hordes of fleeing people? What happens when society collapses? How far are people willing to go to save themselves?
In Europa Pandemus, we follow a desperate fight for survival in a world suddenly thrown into unimaginable chaos — a world where it soon becomes clear that the infected aren’t the only threat.
Reviews:
Easy to read with thrilling characters. It’s honestly incredible how unprepared society really is. If this happened for real, we’d be doomed from the start.
Fast-paced, scary, and — it’s worth saying again — incredibly well-written and gripping.

Mix 28 Days Later with The Signal and The Walking Dead. Add a dash of I Am Legend and The Stand, and you have this year’s action hit: Europa Pandemus. Intense pacing all the way through. When the end comes (far too soon), all you want is more.

Wow, what a page-turner — I finished it in a single day and simply couldn’t put it down. The plot was incredibly exciting and maintained a high tempo throughout. Yet it wasn’t just about violence; much of the story focused on relationships and how the characters help each other survive in this dark world.
There’s a lot of humanity amidst it all.
You can tell the author spent a lot of time developing the characters — each one is very unique and has their own backstory, something I really appreciated.

Wow, what a book. It had me hooked from the very first page.
Tension from beginning to end — and the ending was so thrilling that I’m hoping the sequel will come soon.
It’s scary, intense, and heartbreaking, but it also shows friendship, love, and hope.

I have absolutely zero interest in anything zombie-related […]
This book is full of infected people whose only goal is to kill or eat others. And yet, I couldn’t stop reading it.
We follow two parallel stories, both incredibly exciting, with constant twists and turns.
This is what I would call an action dystopia — packed with violence, blood, and death.
And strangely enough, I loved it.

Europa Refugium
Welcome back to hell!
Running water and electricity are among the most frequent daydreams. A society in total chaos. With no laws or rules left, survival is all that remains. No one is safe. Danger lurks everywhere, posed by both the healthy and the infected.
Where do you go when everything you once took for granted is lost? Who can you trust?
Europa Refugium picks up where the first book, Europa Pandemus, left off.
We once again follow Georg in his search, Inés in her fight to curb the spread of the infection, and the kind-hearted Kari in her hunt for cannibals.
Reviews:
The sequel, just like the first book, delivers macabre, bloody, and fast-paced action mixed with humanity, hope, warmth, and a touch of humor amidst the chaos.
Incredibly thrilling — it will leave you breathless — and truly excellent.

Wow. I had high expectations after Europa Pandemus, and they were more than fulfilled. What a sequel.
It’s a terrifying read filled with extraordinary experiences. A true page-turner — once you start reading, you simply can’t stop.
Despite the sorrow, death, and horror, there’s also beautiful friendship, love, and humor. You can’t help but love the characters. They feel like my friends, and I experience the same fear they do.

Peter Westberg shines in the long-awaited sequel Europa Refugium. He delivers sharp prose, clever and witty touches that make the reading a joy and provide the reader with an experience far beyond the ordinary. […]
When a sequel reconnects you with characters you grew attached to in the first book — characters you absolutely want to know more about — it fulfills all expectations.
