Jessika Devert
After working for many years as a freelance journalist and writing both children's books and biographies, Jessika Devert now focuses on feelgood novels — and since 2021, she has written an impressive 19 of them!
Her writing career began in 2010 with the children's book series about the spirited girl Kicka, who explores the world around her. At the same time, Jessika worked as a freelance journalist for all the major publishing houses in Sweden. Hundreds of her articles have appeared in publications such as Aftonbladet, Expressen, Amelia, Tara, Allers, Året Runt, and Hemmets Journal. She has also written medical texts for Sahlgrenska University Hospital and various types of content for websites.
When her first feelgood novel, The Diary I Never Wrote, was released in 2021, everything changed. It sold so well that just two weeks later, she had signed contracts for a sequel and another book series.
Today, the Diary series is a trilogy, and she has also written the Cat Hotel series.
In addition, Jessika has co-written a five-part audiobook series together with her sister Annika, along with a follow-up spin-off trilogy.
She has sold 350,000 books.

The Diary I Never Wrote
Back cover text:
Imagine receiving a diary from your daughter one day. She's just over twenty and curious about what it's really like to be fifty. You promise to write — at least once a week. But what is there really to write about? How exciting can the life of a fifty-year-old woman in Gothenburg be?
Against all odds, it turns into a jam-packed year — filled with life-affirming wine evenings in Gothenburg and meditation retreats in Österlen. Hot flashes and shifts as a doctor at Sahlgrenska. A steady partner and a (super hot) junior doctor twenty years younger. And then there's the complicated relationship with her mother and sister...
Being in the middle of life isn't always simple.
The Diary I Never Wrote is a humorous, warm, and authentic page-turner — a middle-aged Bridget Jones dropped right into the heart of Gothenburg's tramlines.

The Diary I Actually Wrote
Back cover text:
A new year, new opportunities – and our heroine from The Diary I Never Wrote is back! After a year filled with 50th birthday celebrations, hot flashes, grandmother-anxiety, and a touch of romance, everyday life has returned to normal.
But being fifty-plus seems just as complicated as being forty-nine! Especially when you’re dealing with a partner who is utterly smitten with his new, young, and attractive colleague. Add to that a sick mother, a difficult sister, watercolor classes, failed beauty treatments, and age-related worries – and you’ve got the perfect recipe for chaos!
Luckily, there’s always room for it all in that diary…
The Diary I Actually Wrote is the sequel to Jessika Devert’s acclaimed debut The Diary I Never Wrote. A witty and hilarious Bridget Jones for a more mature audience – packed with relatable moments and set against the charming backdrop of Gothenburg.
Third diary is a charm
Annika has been looking forward to a calmer life after turning fifty. The fact that she’s about to become a grandmother again doesn’t worry her – the first time went just fine!
Life as a doctor doesn’t hold many surprises either. But when an old classmate of her daughter is admitted to the ER, badly abused by her partner, Annika is deeply shaken. She realizes she has to act. The young woman moves into Annika’s apartment, while Annika herself takes a step back from her hectic life.
Life is fragile, as is her relationship with Rikard. Together, they embark on a long-awaited journey to discover the world – and to rediscover each other. But when Annika’s daughter suddenly gives birth far too early, nothing turns out as planned. With new adventures, challenges, and relationships, Annika’s diary continues to fill with both laughter and tears.
Third Time’s the Charm is the highly anticipated third installment in Jessika Devert’s acclaimed series. A warm and humorous story about life, love, and friendship – about daring to let go in order to find yourself again.
“I truly love this series. I’m so fond of all the characters, the everyday life, and the way readers are invited into Annika’s innermost thoughts and feelings. I even suffered a bit of a book hangover afterward, because I just wanted to stay in this world.” – Malins bokblogg
