Daniel Andersson
Daniel Andersson is an author who moves in the borderland between noir, fantasy, and science fiction. With a storytelling style inspired by both pulp fiction and graphic novels, he takes readers into atmospheric, dark worlds where genre boundaries blur.
In 2021, he made his debut with A Night in Logtown City — a comic book-influenced science fiction crime novel praised for its gripping plot, imaginative tone, and original setting. The story unfolds over a single night in a near-future city where superheroes patrol after dark, werewolves lurk in the shadows, and the police can no longer be trusted.
Daniel also regularly writes short stories, published in anthologies, podcasts, and online magazines. Through them, he continues to explore speculative fiction genres and gradually build the fictional universe where all his stories take place — notably in the three that are also set in Logtown City.
Though the settings are often fantastical, his characters face very human conflicts. It’s not about saving the world, but about solving a crime or surviving the personal battles of everyday life. This perspective also shapes his upcoming novel Blood Red Moon (2025), a fantasy story about war-weary soldiers making their way back to their regiment, only to encounter a new enemy in the jungle.
Daniel lives in Enköping with his partner and their two children. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and fishing — a calmer existence that stands in stark contrast to the worlds he creates in his writing.
One Night in Logtown City -
A mix of Sin City, Batman and The Boys with werewolves thrown in for good measure, in this fast paced, noir-ooh crime thriller.
Back Cover Text for One Night in Logtown City
As the police make their biggest arrest ever—taking down a notorious defense attorney—a brutal enforcer rampages through the city like a one-man army. No one knows who he is or what his goal might be, only that he must be stopped before he causes too much destruction.
A seasoned interrogator is called back from vacation to assist in both investigations, while a masked vigilante digs deep into the underworld in search of clues.
Over the course of a single night, their paths cross in a city where werewolves, superheroes, and corrupt cops all fight for control of Logtown City.
Reviews:
“This is a truly impressive debut. Andersson has an incredibly smooth flow in his writing that really appeals to me and helps keep the interest alive even during passages that might be less action-packed.”
— Peter Westberg, @authorwestberg
“Fast-paced dialogue and action fill the book, which takes place over a single night. It’s fascinating how much can happen during one period, but it’s understandable given all the information provided about the situation… Really great reading, and I’m already looking forward to a sequel!”
— Rickard Dahlgren, @metalguy91
“Perhaps the most remarkable thing about A Night in Logtown City is that the story actually works. It really shouldn’t — the result should be a bizarre mess… But it works. And works well. The novel is great entertainment, marinated in pulp fiction. Kudos to Andersson for making it work. Now I’m curious for more.”
— Daniel Gustavsson, @skrapkulturbibliotekarien
“Daniel Andersson’s debut novel has a very distinct comic book feel, and he has built his own Gotham in the form of Logtown City — perhaps a dystopian version of a Swedish metropolis. Unlike Gotham, the villains aren’t goofy penguins or clowns; they’re more brutal, mafia-like. This is a much more mature and darker story than Batman, more akin to Watchmen.”
